Transcriptions will be holding a workshop on using video editing in the classroom. The workshop, led by Chris Hagenath, will be held in Transcriptions on Thursday, March 6th, from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
Designed specifically for instructors to learn the pedagogical applications of video editing, the workshop will teach you how to edit film clips so that you can smoothly integrate them into your lectures.
The workshop will start with a demonstration of how you might use video editing in a lecture. You will then learn how to rip and edit clips and export them to DVD or Quicktime (depending on the capabilities of your classroom). There will be a dicussion of technical questions as well as of copyright/intellectual property issues. There will also be time for Q&A and perhaps a short iMovie tutorial if people are interested.
